“You disappointed Islam people” – Netizens attack Davido for promoting music video of his new signee Logos Olori (Watch)

 

Award-Winning Nigerian singer David Adeleke, professionally known as Davido, has faced strong criticism from some internet users for allegedly disrespecting the Islamic religion during the promotion of the music video of his new signee, Logos Olori.

Logos Olori, who is signed to Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) 2.0, released his first single of the year titled “Jaye Lo” on July 20th, 2023. He gained prominence after featuring in Davido’s song “Picasso,” which was part of the singer’s album, “Timeless.”

In the promotional video shared by Davido on his page, Logos Olori, along with others, was seen wearing white Jalabias. During the video, Davido could be heard mentioning lyrics like “Allihamdulilah,” while others in the footage were observed on their prayer mats, presumably engaging in Solat.

However, some viewers raised concerns about the apparent contradiction in the video. They pointed out that the individuals, who were identified as Muslims, were seen dancing while supposedly in prayer, a practice that goes against Islamic traditions.

It is important for artists and creators to be mindful of cultural and religious sensitivities when producing content, especially when referencing religious practices. Ensuring accuracy and respect in portrayal can help avoid misunderstandings and unintended offense.

However, the music video of Davido signee did not sit well with Muslims as they took to the comment to tackle the singer for promoting such. See reactions below;
