WIZKID BAGS BRIT BILLION AWARD FOR 1B STREAMS

Nigerian singer and songwriter Wizkid has become the first African artist to be awarded the BRIT Billion Award. The award is given to artists who have achieved over one billion digital streams in the United Kingdom.

Wizkid has sold millions of units in the UK, with his songs and albums achieving multiple platinum and gold certifications. His collaboration with Drake, “One Dance,” featuring Kyla, is certified six times platinum, having sold over 3.6 million units. His other platinum-certified songs include “Energy” with Skepta and “Essence” with Tems. His songs “Come Closer” with Drake and “Brown Skin Girl” with Beyoncé are certified gold. Wizkid’s fourth studio album, “Made In Lagos,” is also certified gold in the UK.

Wizkid’s music has been streamed over one billion times in the UK thanks to hits like “Essence,” “Brown Skin Girl,” and “Made in Lagos.” He is one of the most popular artists in Africa and has a global following.

The BRIT Billion Award is a significant achievement for Wizkid and for African music as a whole.
