We are close friends – Singer Davido opens up on his relationship with footballer Cristiano Ronaldo (Video)

 

Renowned Nigerian singer David Adeleke, known professionally as Davido, recently discussed his relationship with former World Footballer of the Year, Cristiano Ronaldo, in a video that has been circulating online.

During his appearance on the ABTalks podcast, hosted by Anas Bukhash, Davido revealed that Ronaldo is a close friend of his, and he expressed his unwavering support for the football star.

Davido also voiced his disapproval of those who insulted Ronaldo following Portugal’s elimination from the World Cup. Recounting the incident, Davido emphasized the personal bond he shares with Ronaldo, expressing his deep disappointment over the online trolls’ abusive comments, given their friendship.

In his words; “Look at Cristiano Ronaldo when he left the World Cup. He is my friend, by the way. He is my very good friend.

Davido added; “When he left the World Cup, I remember being on the internet, and the trolls were abusing him so much, even after everything that he has done.” 

It is worth mentioning that Davido paid homage to Cristiano Ronaldo in his popular 2017 song “Fall,” and interestingly, Davido is the only African artist followed by Ronaldo on Instagram.
