Olayinka Solomon questions AMVCA for snubbing her baby daddy, Ibrahim Chatta

 

Nollywood actress Olayinka Solomon has got a question for the organisers of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, AMVCA, for snubbing her baby daddy and colleague, Ibrahim Chatta.

Yinka Solomon shared photos of Ibrahim Chatta’s epic scene from Femi Adebayo’s Ageshinloke, King of Thieves movie. The mother of two queried AMVCA organizers for ignoring the actor from their nomination list.

According to her, Ibrahim Chatta is a versatile actor that should have been included in the nomination for his roles in Ageshinloke.

Yinka Solomon called out the organizers, urging them to release the criteria for winning their awards.

She wrote on Instagram, “Imagine !!! Why would Ibrahim Chatta be excluded from the nomination of AMVCA in the first place?

When we talk about a versatile actor, let’s give it to ibrahim chatta, especially in his roles in AGESHINKOLE

Please let’s understand the criteria for winning these Awards @amvca @multichoice_group.”

Nigerians react to Ibrahim Chatta’s 2023 AMVCA snub

Recall that Nigerians reacted angrily to the snub of Ibrahim Chatta by AMVCA. This was after Multichoice announced the nomination lists for the 2023 awards. Nollywood stars such as Kunle Afolayan, Femi Adebayo, Funke Akindele and others earned big nominations during the announcement.

Actress Funke Akindele bagged 10 nominations for her box office record-breaking movie, Battle on Buka Street. She was nominated in 9 categories of AMVCA for Battle on Buka Street, while one was for her series on Africa Magic, My Siblings & I.

A Nollywood movie influencer noticed the snub of Ibrahim Chatta during the nomination of Femi Adebayo’s film King of Thieves. His pivotal role contributed greatly to the success of the movie.

Sharing their thoughts online, many noted that Ibrahim Chatta is a brilliant actor who is good at interpreting different roles perfectly. He has delivered perfectly well since the first time he appeared on the screen as an actor.

One Ibukunoluwa wrote: Make e no act any other scene for that movie, This scene alone deserves an award!!! He is an extraordinary actor.

Another user, Bukky Majek, wrote: I still don’t know why this great actor has always been underrated shush, well, doesn’t change the fact that he’s the best actor of his generation

In like manner, netizens condemned the organizers of AMVCA for omitting the lead role of Kunle Afolayan’s ANIKULAPO, Kunle Remi. His role as Saro was one of the reasons many watched the movies.
