Obidients are fools – Seun Kuti reacts after being dragged for having a song with LGBTQ activist Janelle Monáe
Afrobeats musician Seun Kuti recently generated numerous reactions on social media with a post in which he referred to supporters of Peter Obi as fools.
Seun Kuti, who is currently on his European summer tour after being released from custody, made this statement about Peter Obi supporters on May 8th, 2023, via the insta-stories section of his verified Instagram page.
This reaction from Seun Kuti was triggered by a comment made by an individual known as @anaebojess, who criticized Seun Kuti for collaborating with American singer Janelle Monáe.
Janelle Monae is widely recognized for her tireless activism in support of the LGBTQ+ community and her inclusive music career. One of her songs, “Float,” features Seun Kuti & Egypt 80.
The critic argued that Janelle Monae should not have collaborated with Seun Kuti due to his activities during the presidential campaign, which were perceived as being against LGBTQ rights.
The post reads; “@janellemonae why feature @bigbirdkuti? Despite all his activities during Nigeria presidential campaign and his against the lgbt. I didn’t know you will find someone like him good enough to feature.”
Reacting to the post, Seun Kuti wrote; “Obidients are fools.”
