Marc Guiu ‘ready’ for Premier League demands but has no clarity over plans for season

Chelsea signing Marc Guiu spoke about his decision to join the club from Barcelona, explaining that he feels ready for the physicality in the Premier League.
“He [Enzo Maresca] told me there was an amazing sporting project full of young talent, that he wanted me to be a part of it and that he had a lot of faith in me and my skills and capabilities,” Guiu told the Daily Mail.
‘I think I’m ready [for the Premier League]. We work very hard every day both on and off the pitch, on the physical aspect and the practical. So I think I’m ready to be on the pitch.”
When asked if he was going to be loaned out or remain at Chelsea for the season, Guiu replied: “I’m just focused on the pre-season tour, doing my best and that’s what I can say.”
Guiu featured in all four pre-season games for the Blues, although it may not have happened if Nicolas Jackson had been fit.
The 18-year-old played just seven games for Barcelona’s first team before making the move, so Chelsea need to decide if he’ll benefit more by moving elsewhere to play more regularly.
